Meditating like a breeze

Myths Unveiled

There are a lot of myths about meditation. Some people say that it wouldn’t work unless you sit in the middle of a lake or something with certain posture for hours pronouncing mantras and much more. Which is not exactly true. Especially when you are in a city life that keeps you busy all the time, it is hard to find the time to give yourself a little time to calm yourself. Do you remember regretting not being able to meditate due to many reasons even when you really want to. Behold my friend that’s gonna change.

Purpose
Meditation is not that complicated at all. It has one purpose. To attain a state of peace and serenity in our mind by searching within.
Yes, the stress release, increased concentration, clear mind and healthy body are a great side effects for this habit.

There is a myth that meditation is the only thing that can clear mind. Know this, its not a myth. You know the way it is potrayed, that is the myth.

You dont necessarily have to sit in the middle of a pond and say holy words for hours. The real motive of meditation is to let you disconnect from the busy worldly thoughts that are keeping your mind occupied and help you listen to your inner self. Let us look at some simple ways to meditate.

1. A right time
Choosing the right time is as important as the meditation itself. You have to choose a time when you will not be interrupted by anything such as answering your door. Even though it is okay to meditate at your comfortable time, I would recommend you to try it in the early morning.

Your energy will be at its peak and your concentration will be at its best in the morning after you wake up. Which is the perfect time to surf through your energy tides and direct them for a successful day with your concentration.

2. A calm environment
Just select a place which is silent enough for you not to get disturbed or distracted.

3. Posture
In whatever posture you are comfortable with. Just make sure you are relaxed.

4. Breathe
Breathe slowly and deeply, it helps your respiratory routine and stabilize your heart rate which results in a constant blood flow to all your body parts.

5. Thoughts
Clear your thoughts. Easier said than done. Not practical to just clear the chaos inside. Lets start slow.

First, clear your temporary and current thoughts about what you are doing right now, the meditation. Am i doing it right? Is this the right posture? What if somebody walks in on me now? What do i look like? Did i just hear my phone beep? Just stop and tell yourself that you don’t care about any others for the next few minutes.

Second, disconnect yourself from the every day routine thoughts. Disconnect from the work environment. From all the calculations that your sub conscious mind doing in background.
you have a whole lot of time to do them after you finish your meditation.

Third, concentrate. The trick is to concentrate on one thing so that the others fade away. Choose anything that you like or comfortable with. If it is tough for you to do that, follow this beginner trick. Visualise your breathing process. Feel the air that you intake that goes all the way into your body and the air you breath out that goes and merges with the sky.

6. Listen
Listen deeply inside your soul. Sounds dramatic, isn’t it? You listen to the world all the time. You listen to people, movies, books, podcasts, etcetera.
A wise person knows that the real wisdom is found within.Listen to yourself. Search for the energy that is waiting to be sparked. Focus on the best part of your character. It will reveal the things that are unknown to the world and most importantly, to you.

You will no longer be dependent on anyone or anything to get peace. Make it a daily habit and you will see how happy and well you are doing at handling yourself and the world in a better way.
